What is SIL?

Supported Independent Living Tennyson (SIL) is a service and funding solution by the NDIS.

It provides, in many cases, 24/7 support and care to those who are of old age or are currently living with illness or physical disabilities.

Beacon Support's primary goal as an SIL provider is to ensure each client’s physical safety, care, and security to be able to make individual life choices via the following:

- Foster potential growth and progress by offering avenues to develop existing capabilities

- Enhance a client's sense of self within the community

- Provide NDIS related assistance

Beacon Support DOES NOT provide clients with a separate residence or home known as a Specialist Disability Accommodation Tennyson (SDA).

We will go to where you already are and work with you in the comfort of your existing home/residence.

At Beacon Support, we do not have home care properties or SDAs to offer and are not looking to fill vacancies with home care clients.

We can, however, deliver SIL services to clients situated in their own homes, SDA arrangements, and even in group homes.

Beacon Support can also take over existing SIL provider accounts, especially for those who are operating their own SDAs.

What Our SIL Carers Do

At Beacon, we don't just deliver physical home care needs but also lifestyle support to our clients.

We provide friendship and encourage independence as much as possible within the limits of their conditions.

We assist with daily chores, including cooking and tidying up as well as doing the shopping and more.

what is Consumer Directed Care or CDC

Funding Your SIL

To be an approved Supported Independent Living recipient in Tennyson, you need to work with an NDIS planner to process your request.

Once approved, your funding will be given to your area's SIL Support Coordinator, who will then facilitate finding and matching health and service providers like Beacon Support for you.

Since your SIL funding can be used wherever you are currently living, there is no need to move to a hospital or a Special Disability Accommodation Tennyson.

We receive several requests from these coordinators for individuals like you that need SIL services.
