If you are eligible for the NDIS then you have probably considered the different NDIS providers and the services they provide.

You may have even consulted the NDIS provider list Qld. The Australian government has an NDIS provider list Qld that lists all of the approved NDIS providers in the state. This list is quite extensive so understandably can seem overwhelming.

Beacon Support, as a registered NDIS provider, is here to shed some light on the NDIS provider list Qld and what it means to you.

NDIS Provider List Qld

What is the NDIS?

The NDIS is a national government scheme established to help people living with disabilities take control of their lives through funding. The individual gets to choose how and which NDIS provider they spend their funding with.

For a person to become eligible for NDIS support they must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a citizen of Australia or resident. Permanent visa holders are also eligible.
  • Must be under the age of 65 at the time of application
  • Should meet the specified disability or early intervention conditions.

Early intervention requirements include:

  • A child who is 6 years of age and under, who is experiencing developmental delay and because of this delay, the child needs extra help as compared to other children of the same age with communication, learning, motor skills or self-care
  • Having a permanent or lifelong impairment or condition.

NDIS Providers

NDIS providers are organisations or people tasked with delivering support to recipients of NDIS funding. All NDIS service providers must be registered with the The National Insurance Disability Agency (NDIA) for them to provide any services to NDIS participants whether these participants fall under NDIS managed plans or self-managed plans.

This ensures that the NDIS objectives, to empower all persons living with a disability with funds (or support) that will give them the ability to purchase services in accordance with their lifestyles and aspirations, are upheld.

NDIS providers such as Beacon Support offer a range of services, which may include:

  • Household support including grooming, preparing meals as well as cleaning and maintaining the home
  • Transport to and from medical appointments
  • Providing the equipment a participant needs in order to increase their access to the community
  • Helping a participant achieve personal milestones, through therapy and assessments.
